June 30, 2010

Today was a lovely day. Woke up around 9:30. Ate some breakfast and then Ben decided he wanted to go find himself some sunglasses. He asked me if I wanted to come along and I happily agreed. We were off.

The sun was blazing hot but we got in the car anyway. 12:00 is definitely the best time to travel in the middle of summer. I made coffee with way too much Splenda/sugar sweetener, Ben found some sunglasses but decided in the end they were too expensive and occupied a good amount Salesman Jacob's time. We're going to keep shopping around.

Next stop was Target to get a pillow long enough to stretch across the whole bed. We found one and brought that baby home. I made a pillow case out of a sheet for it because all the ones Target sold were made of sleazy fabric. Ben is currently sleeping on our lovely new purple pillow.

I finished the bracelet I've been working on for a couple days this afternoon. It's made out of embroidered beads cut from Alberson's receipt tape rolls. The beads are sewn on some Queen of Africa fabric. I'm about to take some pictures of it to sell on Etsy. We'll see how that goes.

Later Ben and I took a bike ride to Indian Hills park to play some frisbee but the bugs were definitely out so we packed up and headed out. rode a little on the spring creek trail and then decided to head home. Ate Totinos pizza, salad, and Ben's delicious welcome home chocolate cake. Watched 2 It's Always Sunnies, showered, and Ben's in bed.

Monday, June 14

on this day I finished sewing an organizer for our couch. it holds the wireless mouse, keyboard, mousepad, sunscreen, tv clicker, and ben's phone. it's made of queen of africa fabric.

we went to the Fort Collins library in the afternoon and i got some books about climbing 14teeners. after getting these books, i decided it wasn't the best idea to climb a 14teener.

we came home and ate hot dogs and potato salad.

ben told me i will be getting a package this week! this ticked me pink. I can't open it until thursday at midnight or friday at 12 am. If it comes before then, I will want to open it but I can't.

it was a good afternoon.

work at 4. very boring. i didn't have a book to read so i just puttered around. found an open bag of mini snickers in the back room. ate a few.

two letter in the mail! one was a thank-you card from Kirsten for her birthday present. she has impeccable handwriting. it should be a font. the other was from sandra seng, my sponsor kid in the Philippines. her favorite food is the apple.

got off at 9. ben came to pick me up and we went to see Babies at the cinema saver 6. it was very good. american babies go to too many classes. they also read book about not hitting other humans and then go on to hit their mothers.

Purpose of Blog
I'm starting this blog to keep track of my summer. I can't ever stick to one notebook for writing down thoughts and daily activities. This will serve as a journal/daily log mostly to jog my memory about what happened each day.

Today's Rundown:

Today I woke up earlier than I have the past couple days, around 9. I made a bowl of Cream of Wheat and ate it while Ben sat to my right on the couch.

I read Sirens of Titan for a couple hours.

Made 1:30 hair appointment.

Went to King Soopers with Ben at 12. We got so much food for $10! Talked with the interesting "S" sound in the mouth. "Lots of cans of corn and soup" Bahahaha. Ben commented on how Sarah picked up making this sound. I made it until I felt like it might be getting a tiny bit on Ben's nerves. Push it. Always push it.

I ate clam chowder and Ben ate chick noodle while we watched an episode of Bullshit: ESA.
Chick nood for Ben because he wasn't feeling too well. High blood sugar all morning and day. He slipped in the hall while I was at work.

Went to work at 2:30. Busted ass to get Hershey candies out and about. Done around 4:30 with all that business. Fucked around for a while. Went to the back room with Sirens around 7:45 and plopped my butt down on an empty Hershey's shipper. Read and read and read. Randy popped his head into the lockup to say hello but other than that no disturbances. It was awesome. Got through most of the book.

Came home at 9. Seinfeld 3 and 4 done downloading. Everyone's voice is too high pitched in season 3 for Ben to watch. I admit it was pretty annoying but I probably could have made it through. We watched season 4 instead. Ate hotdogs. Ben fell asleep on my lap. I removed him after about 30 minutes and started reading Sirens. Finished it.

I think it took me three days. Good book. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'll definitely be reading more Vonegut. I feel connected to Ben now after read it. Sirens of Titan is his favorite (Vonegut?) book.

Ben is still asleep. He is so handsome laying on the couch right next to me. I'm playing Seu Jorge for him, even though it's not my favorite in the world. I can tell even in his sleep that he likes it more than the Red Hot Chili Peppers, which was on before this.

Tomorrow I must write Paul an official letter of internship resignation or whatever. So continues my life.

Work work work these next three days so I can have day before anniversary and anniversary off.

Then Grand Junction and Megan for five days.

Anniversary this Friday. I love him.
